One of my favorite places to eat in Grants Pass. The staff is super friendly, the food is good, and I'm pretty sure the prices aren't too bad either. Will always return :)

Had tamale/enchilda/rice&beans from the lunch menu. The tamale was one of the largest I've found in restaurants hereabouts, with a good balance of meat and masa. The enchilda had enough meat. The rice and beans were not outstanding but they were quite acceptable. Fresh (still hot!) chips came before the meal - the salsa was about what you'd call "medium" in terms of hotness. One downside was the lack of pork as a meat option in the various menu items. All-in-all the meal was pretty good - I'd eat here again if the moment arrives.

While I am not a fan of the entire menu, it's ok, by far the Tortilla soup is the best i have had anywhere. When I am sick, I always make my husband get take out.

Another solid player in the Grants Pass Mexican market. Pretty standard menu of mexican dishes and pretty tasty, This is another regular restaurant for me; my standard Mexican cuisine favorites and plenty family memories here.

Pretty good place.... Its hard to match mexican food in other places though... Food was pretty but nothing to catch my attention to come back begging for more... Most the restraunts taste the same in this city...

My husband and I moved from Arizona two years ago and have been craving GOOD Mexican food. Well we have food it. The salsa had the perfect bite and the chips are delicious and very easy to eat. The shredded beef chimi melted in my mouth and the guacamole was equally amazing. The service was impeccable and we will for SURE be regulars now. KUDOS El Patron, you all rival our favorite spots in AZ. Thank you for being so amazing on every level.

Not going to lie. Worst Mexican food and drinks I've ever had. Way more worth your time and money to go to Ci casa flores. They are the ones to be in competition with. Super sad we spent our time and money here.

First time we haven eaten here. We shared a Mexican Shrimp Cocktail. Oh my! It was amazing! So fresh and full of flavor. My husband had the Burrito El Pastor, he loved it. I can't remember the name of the dish I had but is was awesome as well. We are looking forward to going back and trying more dishes! Especially for more Mexican Shrimp Cocktail!

Can't say enough about this place which was recommended for lunch by a shop owner down the street. My wife had the pork taco plate. I went with the recommended standard cheeseburger, since I am so daring in my food selections...not. Anyway, both meals were excellent in both quality and quantity. The staff members are the friendliest you'll ever see in the food service business. You should probably try this place...I'll bet it satisfies.

I have been going here since they opened. great food and the portions are excellent for the price. The restaurant used to be an A&W and is somewhat outdated, but the food and service make up for it. Also, meet the owner if you can. A true gentleman and just an awefully nice guy! Make a stop and order anything...you won't be disappointed!

Easily my favorite restaurant in town, they always get my order perfect every time. I've been coming here for about six years and it's gotten to the point where I don't even have to tell them what I want, I come in and sit down and they ask me if I want the same thing as usual and then eat my chips. If every other restaurant in town had this level of service people might drive from Medford to here instead of the other way around. Don't change a thing!

In my opinion it's the best "sit down" Mexican Restaurant in Grants Pass. It's fast, friendly and delicious. I have only had from the lunch menu but the prices as well as the portions are well worth it.

Who would've thought a Mexican restaurant would make a burger that gives Jimmy's a run for their money. Ordered the double cheeseburger with ortega chiles (an off menu extra). One of the best burgers in GP hands down.

When I'm in a hurry to get home, and my wife and I don't feel like cooking, burritos are hard to beat! They are one of the few menu items from ANY cuisine that travels pretty well. First time here at El Patron, got 1 shredded beef, 1 chicken burrito, both of which were quite good, and from the time I ordered them to when I walked out with a bag of dinner was as fast as many fast food restaurants, so if your in a hurry, I'd say they are pretty efficient! I'm used to the usual foil wrapped burritos, and the fact these are covered in sauce and a little melted cheese is different, but good. Chips and good salsa, friendly people and local horse racing photos in the restaurant. The burritos were some of the least greasy one's I've had in a long time, but between the refried beans and the shredded meats moisture, and the sauce they weren't dry at all. The overall feeling of the place is family run with a sense of pride in what they serve.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
